Calling Our Own Power

Reclaiming Her Power: Embodying Rhiannon’s Grace

Our world is at a precarious point in its history. The threat to our Mother Earth and our freedoms grows by the day and adversity continually challenges those whose fiery hearts blaze with love and compassion for all. Guardians are rising, answering the call for love, peace and justice, and yet the firm grip of those who greedily hold the power and the continued injustice suffered by the world’s marginalized dishearten and disempower the Guardians, weakening their fight and dimming their light.

Graceful, balanced and firmly rooted in Her Sovereignty, the Avalonian Goddess Rhiannon stands ready to guide Her Daughters toward reclaiming their power. She who answers injustice with compassion, humiliation with grace, fear with faith, can help us to remember our courage, reignite our inner flame, and reclaim our crowns of Sovereignty so that we may continue our good work in the world with Her blessing.

Join us for an in-depth exploration of the Goddess Rhiannon as we look to Her sacred story for inspiration and empowerment, and learn to call back our own power lost. We will drum, chant and shake the earth to call back what is ours and complete our ritual with an anointing and empowering of the Great Queens within.

Intentional Cooking – Spiritual and Physical Nourishment

We will explore the Hearthkeeper energetic and act of hearth tending and cooking with intention.  Bringing our spiritual tools and practice into the service of nourishing ourselves, our families and our communities.  We will create the very bread our Ninefold community will break after our main ritual and in this way serve our community and each other.

Spinning into a Spiritual Practice

Spinning with Intention

Over the years of her Avalonian practice, Alicia has incorporated many types of artisanry into her work. This includes incorporating drop-spinning in ritual space. It builds into trance work, and especially work with Arianrhod and Branwen- our polarity Goddesses. Learning to drop spin, and gaining facility with the process makes it easier to incorporate it into ritual. This workshop is open to beginners and experienced spinners. We’ll work with fiber from Wales provided by the teacher. Please bring your own top-whorl spindle.

Alicia Grosso is a teacher, author and interdisciplinary artist. She has been with the Sisterhood of Avalon since 1999 and currently serves as the Artisan Matron on the Council of Nine. She has been Theatre at the university and secondary levels for twenty-six years.

Finding Rhythm and Balance in Every Day Moments

Establishing Rhythm: Spiritual Focus in a Mundane World

Discovering your spiritual home in the Island of Avalon is a beautiful awakening for many women. But so often, that awakening, especially when experienced through intensives or festivals — time spent immersed in Sisterhood — is hard to maintain when we return home to “mundane life”. How do we keep that passion for our spirituality alive in daily life? How do we experience the Priestess Isle when we are not surrounded by our sisters?

Join us as we discuss how to find rhythm and balance in every day moments, and how to enrich your life through daily spiritual practice. Through discussion and meditation, we will immerse ourselves in the ninefold energetic of the ritualist. Using that energy, we will then craft small daily rituals that can be used to heighten your connection to the Avalonian tradition, and help you carry the priestess isle in your heart and mind as you walk through the world.

Reaching the Shore

The Five Seeds of Wisdom
Seed Four:  Reaching the Shore

At last, we find ourselves on solid ground–setting our feet on the sacred shores of Avalon.  Our journey culminates in this moment of attainment; we have obtained our desire and overcome the obstacles preventing us from realizing our goal.  Touching the core of our Sacred Nature, we rejoice in the knowledge that we have the power to transform our lives and draw closer to manifesting our authentic self.  ~Jhenah Telyndru, from Avalon Within

Our Ninefold Festival is an opportunity to step onto the reality of the sacred shores at least for a weekend to draw closer to that which is within.  Chris shares what it meant to her at our last Ninefold Festival below.  How can it transform your life?

July 12, 2016
A powerful and incredibly inspiring gathering! My bond with the Goddess have renewed strength and the in person connection with so many Sisters and (hopefully) Sisters-to-Be  will be forever held close in my heart! For me our last circle of weaving the web and holding eye contact with the face of the goddess in the mirror had a deep impact on my psyche. It cleared my vision of why women MUST create and foster MORE communities of women to gather in person regardless of spiritual beliefs! I LOVE our online Sisterhood, yet to feel the physical touch and to make true eye contact with others with who I can share my love of the Divine Feminine is an experience beyond any I have ever had! Thank You is a simple expression of my gratitude to each woman who brought this Festival to fruition or who came to share the experience of being part of the gathering of women. Goddess Blessings for each and every one of You! ❤ ❤ ❤  ~Chris M.

The Breath of Nine Maidens:
Personal Transformation and the Path of the Ninefold

With Jhenah Telyndru

Come explore the Ninefold Way of Avalon as we remember what is known about the Ninefold Sisterhoods of Celtic myth and legend, reclaim the hidden pathways represented by the Nine Morgens of Avalon, and renew their empowering lessons in our lives. Together we will examine how the energies of the Ninefold teach us empowering ways to serve ourselves, our communities, and the Goddesses of Avalon by identifying and manifesting our authentic calling. Finally, we will collectively journey to the Otherworld to connect with, and seek the guidance of, the Nine Morgens themselves.

Jhenah Telyndru is the founder and Morgen of the Sisterhood of Avalon, and has been walking a Pagan path for over 30 years. Her published works include “Avalon Within: A Sacred Journey of Myth, Mystery, and Inner Wisdom”, “The Avalonian Oracle”, “Seasons of Sovereignty”, and several forthcoming books, the first of which is an exploration of the Goddess Rhiannon. Mother Wit:
For When It Feels Like The/Your World Is Coming To An End

With Elizabeth Cunningham

Through storytelling, humor, and song, Maeve Rhuad (aka the Celtic Magdalen) and Elizabeth Cunningham (aka the reluctant activist) will draw on their experiences to address the times, personal and political, that try women’s souls. They will touch on such topics as how to discern what cause is calling you–and what isn’t. Saying yes–and no. Holding on–and letting go. They intend for this presentation to include discussion, singing, and, they hope, some hollering and foot-stomping!
